ACFIC Aims for Top Tech

The ACFIC is taking steps to improve the recommendation and evaluation system regarding its annual Science and Technology Awards. And the March 18th training workshop for its local administrators is just a beginning.

The Awards, established in 2008, is a key endeavor of the ACFIC to encourage scientific and technological progress and innovations by the country’s non-public sector. It is planned that the Awards will be issued under four categories: Technological Progress, Major Invention, Innovative Enterprise and Innovative Entrepreneur. The annual Technological Progress Award has been around since 2008, while the bi-annual Innovative Entrepreneur Award will be kicked off this year. Other awards will follow soon.

Some 50 administrators of the ACFIC’s National Office, local chapters, directly-associated chambers of commerce and private enterprises attended the workshop last Thursday. They were briefed about the recommendation, application and award procedures and were encouraged to improve them.
