2022 ACFIC International Cooperation Work Conference held in Beijing

On February 23, the 2022 ACFIC International Cooperation Work Conference was held in Beijing. The conference thoroughly studied the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, all the plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and the Central Economic Work Conference, and implemented the important instructions of Chinese President Xi Jinping, especially his speech at the Third Symposium on the Development of the Belt and Road Initiative. The conference implemented the deployment and requirements of the fifth meeting of the 12th Executive Committee of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), summarized and exchanged the international cooperation work of the ACFIC in 2021, analyzed the current situation, and arranged key tasks for 2022. Qiu Xiaoping, vice chairman of ACFIC, attended the conference and delivered a speech.
 


Qiu put forward some requirements for the federations of industry and commerce in the key work of international cooperation in 2022. He pointed out that we should follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, earnestly implement the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, adhere to the general working principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, and coordinate development and security. We should take guiding private enterprises to go global with high quality and participating in the Belt and Road Initiative as our main tasks, focus on helping private enterprises improve the quality and efficiency of overseas investment and prevent risks, deeply promote private enterprises to go global with high quality through the campaign of “Providing Policies and Services and Preventing Risks”. We should further integrate service resources, innovate methods, build work brands, and strive to improve efficiency of service, so as to make new contributions to stabilizing the macroeconomic market and promoting the construction of a new development paradigm. Qiu stressed that we should strengthen the initiative of international cooperation work of the federations of industry and commerce, earnestly study and understand the spirit of the important instructions of Chinese President Xi Jinping, especially his speech at the Third Symposium on the Development of the Belt and Road Initiative, further unify our thinking and understanding, and raise our political stance. We should strengthen our awareness of opportunities and risks, maintain strategic focus, take an active role in providing guidance and services, and support private enterprises in fully seizing historic opportunities and effectively responding to risks and challenges, so as to achieve better development by going global with high quality and deepen the Belt and Road Initiative. We should further promote the campaign of “Providing Policies and Services and Preventing Risks”, make solid efforts to provide policies and information, deepen the campaign of “Escorting Private Enterprises to Go Global”, carry out the campaign for the overseas compliance construction of private enterprises, and further help private enterprises prevent overseas risks. We should further deepen international exchanges and cooperation, continue to build platforms for high-level international economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with business communities in key countries and regions, and strengthen contacts and exchanges with business communities in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. We should further strengthen the database construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and put more efforts into defining objectives and tasks and strengthening organization and implementation as well as management and application.
 
At the conference, Ma Jun, director general of the liaison department of ACFIC, summarized the international cooperation work in 2021 and made arrangements for the key work in 2022 from four aspects, including focusing on compliance construction and guiding private enterprises to prevent risks in overseas investment, continuing to optimize services to help private enterprises improve the quality and efficiency of overseas investment, promoting international exchanges and building a high-end platform for economic and trade cooperation, and improving the investigation and research mechanism and laying a solid foundation for work. Liu Weidong, deputy director of Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences, analyzed the spirit of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s speech at the Third Symposium on the Development of the Belt and Road Initiative. Wang Yaping, researcher of the Center for International Strategic Studies of the Counsellors’ Office of the State Council of China and chairman of Accounting Society for Foreign Economic Relations & Trade of China, and Nan Cunhui, vice chairman of ACFIC and chairman of Chint Group, delivered speeches on the overseas compliance construction of private enterprises. Relevant comrades from federations of industry and commerce in Zhejiang, Hunan, Guizhou, Fujian, Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces and China-Africa Business Council exchanged their views at the conference as well.
 
The conference was held offline and online with the main venue set up by the ACFIC and sub-venues set up by provincial and sub-provincial federations of industry and commerce. Some participants attended the conference through online video. Liu Lu, deputy director general of the liaison department of ACFIC, presided over the conference, which was attended by more than 300 people including leaders of relevant departments of ACFIC, vice chairmen and comrades in the international departments of industrial and commercial federations in all provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government), the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and sub-provincial cities, responsible comrades of chambers of commerce directly affiliated to ACFIC, members of the International Cooperation Committee of ACFIC, representatives of private enterprises, and all cadres of the liaison department of ACFIC.
