On the morning of May 23, the 10th Global Forum for Hunan Entrepreneurs opened both online and offline in Zhuzhou, Hunan province. Xu Lejiang, executive vice chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), delivered a video speech at the opening ceremony. Mao Weiming, governor of Hunan province, made a keynote speech. Li Weiwei, chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended.

 
Xu Lejiang stressed that in the face of profound changes and a pandemic both unseen in a century, Hunan entrepreneurs should continue to carry forward the fighting spirit of braving the world, adhere to the value concept of saving the nation by engaging in industry, have lofty aspirations, bear responsibilities of the times, and work hard to compose a new magnificent chapter on the new journey of the new era. First of all, Hunan entrepreneurs should strengthen their confidence in development, grasp the general trend of the times, and actively respond to difficulties and challenges. With tenacity, wisdom and strength, Hunan entrepreneurs should forge ahead bravely and create new brilliant careers. Second, they should adhere to the new development philosophy, forge ahead with determination, and strive to be practitioners of high-quality development. They should be pioneers in innovation-driven development, adhere to the road of independent innovation, continue to promote technological innovation, product innovation and model innovation, carry forward the spirit of craftsmanship, and lead their enterprises to achieve higher-quality and more competitive development. They should strive to be pioneers in digital transformation, actively participate in cooperation in cross-border e-commerce, smart cities and smart manufacturing, and accelerate the digital, networked and intelligent development of enterprises. They should promote green and low-carbon development, put into practice the concept of green development, actively participate in cooperation in green infrastructure and green energy, and make a positive contribution to China’s carbon peak and neutrality targets. Third, they should actively fulfil their social responsibilities and show the spirit of private entrepreneurs in the new era. On the basis of making their enterprises stronger and better, Hunan entrepreneurs should consciously practice the concept of “The Rich First Pushing Those Being Rich Later”, and actively participate in public welfare and charity, the rural revitalization strategy, the Guangcai Program, and the campaign of “Ten Thousand Enterprises Helping Ten Thousand Villages”. They should strive to be a model of the new era who are rich but also virtuous, affectionate and responsible.
 
Xu said that in recent years, Hunan province had fully implemented the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, and the economy had maintained a stable and positive trend. Hunan has continued to build a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment, polished the brand of “One-step Approval Process”, and implemented the “Six Ones” measure to promote the development of the private economy, so as to lay solid foundation for the healthy development of private enterprises. In the 2021 ACFIC “Evaluation of Business Environment of Ten Thousand Private Enterprises”, Hunan ranked 8th nationwide and toped the provinces in Central China. This forum fully reflects Hunan’s great attention to the “Return of Hunan Entrepreneurs”, and has built an important platform and effective carrier for Hunan entrepreneurs worldwide to seize the historical opportunities of modern and new Hunan. He expected that Hunan entrepreneurs around the globe to seize the opportunity to invest, start a business, and settle down in Hunan, and share a brighter future with Hunan.
 
Mao Weiming expressed his gratitude to Hunan entrepreneurs and friends from all walks of life for their care and support for Hunan. He noted that Hunan entrepreneurs were the precious wealth of Hunan, a world-renowned business card, a bridge between internal and external communication, and a new force to promote the high-quality development of Hunan. There are now over 4 million Hunan entrepreneurs in the world, whose business covers more than 180 countries and regions, with over 4 trillion yuan of assets globally. Since Hunan launched the action of “Welcoming Hunan Entrepreneurs to Return and Develop Their Hometowns”, it has attracted more than 1.38 trillion yuan of project investment. Hunan entrepreneurs have become the main force of industrial development, the leading role of technological innovation, and the backbone of tax payment and employment in Hunan. At present, Hunan is standing at a new historical starting point of development, and is fully implementing the spirit of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions to Hunan, seizing major historical opportunities, policy opportunities and platform opportunities, and speeding up the construction of new modern Hunan. Mao hoped that we would lead and promote the return of industry, reflow of capital, reinvestment of projects, reunion of talents and reconstruction of headquarters, work together to build an important national advanced manufacturing highland, a technological innovation highland with core competitiveness and a highland for reform and opening up in inland areas, help lay a solid foundation for high-quality development, and work together to promote common prosperity. He said that Hunan would do a good job of the “Three Pillars and Eight Key Points” to provide investors with the best support and business environment.
 
The “New Hunan Contribution Award”, the “Outstanding Contribution Award for Boosting Hunan”, the enterprise representatives of the “Top 100 Private Enterprises in Hunan Province”, the Hunan Private Enterprise Service Center, and the landmark projects of “Welcoming Hunan Entrepreneurs to Return and Develop Their Hometowns” from 2017 to 2021 were awarded at the forum. A total of 151 projects were signed, with a total investment of 121.97 billion yuan.
 
More than 300 guests from the chambers of commerce directly under the ACFIC, representatives of Hunan chambers of commerce at home and abroad, and representatives of the Fortune Global 500 companies, top 500 Chinese enterprises, and China’s top 500 private enterprises gathered at the main venue in Zhuzhou. A total of 357 domestic and overseas business associations (including 46 overseas ones) organized more than 100,000 Hunan entrepreneurs to participate in the forum via online channels.
